What is Acupuncture?
“Acupuncture” is the combination of two words with Latin origins; “acus,” in reference to a needle-like object and “punctura,” which means to pierce with a sharp object.
Although needles are commonly used in acupuncture, there are a variety of ways to activate the body’s network of meridians. These include: Magnetic Field Therapy, Electronic Acupuncture, fingertip pressure, short needle penetration, metallic ion balls taped to acu-points, Vega Select, and Audio Color therapies. Electronic acupuncture is a non-needle technique, allowing practitioners to do more acupuncture points on the body than needles alone, and with minimal discomfort.
How does Acupuncture Work?
By stimulating acupuncture points using the methods mentioned above, we can help the body move towards achieving balance and in turn promote health, healing, and wellbeing.
Is Acupuncture Safe?
When performed by a trained practitioner, acupuncture is completely safe. At New Life Clinic, all needles are pre-sterilized and then discarded after each use.
